Making Notes for PA while reading! Do I really need it?

 Notes making while reading a book is considered helpful by many and indeed it is so. But while reading a huge subject consisting of many topics or chapter makes you difficult because of time constrains. So you must be very precise and concise about the notes that you are preparing. You can add many things in your notes but ultimately it is your time ( which is simply not there unlike your college studies). In 3-4 months you have to take care of your Optional Subject.
So today I will be sharing some tips of note making specially for Public Administration:
Tip 1: Neat and clean handwriting - and make your notes as attractive as possible, being said this, don't use color pencils and make it colorful. Here I mean be attractive is, make the notes, underline the important points, use capital letters etc.

Tip 2: Short and Complete sentences - to make the notes more concise and highlight the only important points. Provide shortened examples wherever necessary- this will help you to recollect things in future.

Tip 3Diagrams and flowcharts - are must for topics whichever necessary. As we know, diagram and flowcharts speaks a lot and make the concept clearer. And it is advisable for you to use them wherever possible while writing in your Examinations as well. 

Tip 4: Point-wise or numbering - for every points you note down for every topics but there must precise and concise words expressing the points without altering the underlying message of the topics. There are some particular terminologies and words which are necessary and must be a part of some points. Don't invent new terms or words wherever necessary.

So, with these for tips, you can go ahead with notes making for PA. But I would like to remind you these following points while preparing notes:
  • Prepare notes only for those complex topics which you feel necessary
  • No need for notes for every topics.
  • Notes must be selective
  • Diagram or flowchart is a must for those required.
  • Make notes for important topics or commonly asked topics.
These tips are actually applicable for any subjects for that matter. You can apply it you to GS studies as well and take the benefits of your notes while examination is getting very near.
